This application was designed and developed by Esri's Applications Prototype Lab in Redlands, California. The application was built using the following technologies:
Inspiration and data for this app was derived from Tertius Chandler's 1987 book entitled Four Thousand Years of Urban Growth: An Historical Census. Chandler's work was merged and updated with data from Esri and Wikipedia.
Special thanks to Witold Frączek and Carol Sousa for geolocating, verifying and updating the city database.
